Indexes to College Book volumes 1 and 3, ca. 1895?.

This collection contains handwritten indexes for College Book 1 and College Book 3 in the same hand. The index for College Book 1 (UAI 5.47 Box 1) is written on twenty-four loose 15 x 5" leaves. Page numbers for the index are based on small penciled-in numbers written in the margins of College Book 1. The index for College Book 3 (UAI 5.47 Box 2) is handwritten in a folio-sized hardcover bound volume.

Samuel Mather (1677-1746) was a member of a prominent Connecticut family. He was born in Branford, Connecticut in 1677; his parents were the Reverend Samuel and Hannah (Treat) Mather. When Samuel was four, his family moved to Windsor, Connecticut. He attended Harvard College, receiving an A.B. in 1698 and an A.M. in 1701.
